For economical reasons more than anything really, I ride "Rudolf"; a Yamaha YBR 125cc motorbike; slow by motorcycle
standards but quick enough for me and it's managed unbelievably well considering the horrific roads, tracks, mud, desert and rivers it's seen.
The gear list is significantly shorter these days, mainly due to the Ethiopian gear pixie who showed up at almost every turn, but otherwise most of it is still with me after the African leg.
Not as complicated as first seems, being broken down in to fixing things, cooking things, bath things, clothe things, and sleeping things...and paper things, lots of paper things.
